On Thursday, April 24, at 5:30 pm at the Crews Center for Entrepreneurship, students in the University of Memphis Department of Journalism’s entrepreneurial journalism course will present their final pitches for startups they’ve been working on all semester. Please join us to hear their ideas and welcome them into the community of innovators in our city.
Each pitch will be 10-12 minutes long, plus time for some questions/feedback, and there are four groups. After the pitches we will adjourn for a #jpreneur after-party at nearby RP Tracks.
Among our startups this semester we have: Safe City, which is tackling a problem posed to us by the Commercial Appeal newspaper by streamlining severe weather and other emergency alerts and closings; Stock Boy, an app which will help you find things in the grocery store and help you to manage your lists and coupons; Where to Run, an app designed to help runners find the best routes when traveling; and Verst, which will allow book lovers to easily access music they are reading about.
